This Talbot has very good ripeness on the nose with dense black fruit, although if anything it is perhaps lacking a little delineation. Lifted blackberries, a touch of iodine and wine gums. The palate is medium-bodied︰this is obviously a wine in which a lot of work has gone into. Blackberry, cedar and a touch of bilberry, quite chewy tannins with a sappy finish. This is either going to be wonderful after bottling or the exact opposite let’s hope the latter. Good effort. Tasted April 2008.
